The South African National Editor’s Forum has released guidelines for journalists covering the country’s national elections, with information on knowing your rights, what to do if harassed and safety in volatile areas.
The South African National Editor’s Forum has released guidelines for journalists covering the country’s national elections, due to be held on 22 April.
These give advice on important aspects of reporting such as knowing your rights under the Constitution and the Independent Electoral Commission Code, what to do in the event of harassment, safety in volatile areas and crime scene management. It also provides IEC media contact numbers.
